Animalympics (1980, 1hr 19min)
Directed by Steven Lisberger
Originally commissioned by NBC to accompany its coverage of the 1980 Winter and Summer Olympics, Animalympics imagines the Games airing on a network populated by animal athletes and celebrity commentators.
It's got a pretty incredible team behind it. Director Steven Lisberger would go on to make TRON directly after this. Animators Brad Bird (director of The Iron Giant and Ratatouille) and Roger Allers (director of The Lion King) lent their talents. The soundtrack was written and produced by 10cc's Graham Gouldman, and the cast includes Billy Crystal, Gilda Radner and Harry Shearer.

Three by Teuvo Tulio
With a winning combination of surrealist imagery and emotional intensity, the films of Finnish director Teuvo Tulio (1912–2000) are melodramas untethered from naturalism or narrative logic, occupying a similar space to the subversive melodramas of Douglas Sirk and R.W. Fassbinder. They are unearthly and operatic, with elements of film noir and Expressionist horror, plenty of shadows, and (in the case of Sensuela) gorgeous colour.
Presented with Deaf Crocodile.

Mother Holly (1963, 57min)
Directed by Gottfried Kolditz
Mother Holly is an East German fairy tale adapted from the Brothers Grimm story. Shot in the richly pigmented Agfacolor process, Director Gottfried Kolditz utilizes the capabilities of the film through stark colour blocking, often on black backgrounds, to create a visually intense storybook fable.
Mother Holly is a morally neutral witch who lives somewhere above the earth. To find her, you must jump to the bottom of a well (don’t ask us how this works.) Follow along as two sisters (one hardworking, one lazy) find Mother Holly’s home and are put to work helping with her chores.
